To promote academic exchange in ocean energy research between Japanese and Korean researchers, as well as to foster the development of young researchers, a joint research seminar on ocean energy is held annually. The seminar features presentations on ocean energy and related technologies, followed by lively discussions among participants.

This year, National Fisheries University (Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture) served as the host institution, and the seminar was held in person in Japan. A total of 46 participants attended from Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU, Korea), Mokpo National Maritime University (MMU, Korea), National Fisheries University (NFU, Japan), and the Institute of Ocean Energy, Saga University (IOES, Japan). The event featured 18 oral presentations and 14 poster presentations.

The Best Oral Presentation Award was presented to Mr. Bum Hwan KIM from KMOU, and the Best Poster Presentation Award was awarded to Mr. Kaung Khant SOE from IOES, Saga University.
