With the aim of promoting academic exchange in the field of ocean energy research between Japanese and Korean researchers, as well as fostering the education of young researchers, an annual joint research seminar on ocean energy has been held.
At the seminar, presentations are given on ocean energy and related technologies, followed by lively discussions.

This year, Mokpo National Maritime University (MMU, Korea) served as the host institution, and for the first time in two years, the seminar was held in person in Korea.
A total of 47 participants attended from Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU, Korea), Mokpo National Maritime University (MMU), National Fisheries University (NFU, Japan), and the Institute of Ocean Energy, Saga University (IOES).
The seminar featured 21 oral presentations and 9 poster presentations.
