佐賀大学海洋エネルギー研究センターは、地球にやさしい自然エネルギーのひとつである海洋エネルギーの開発を通じて、エネルギー・環境問題の解決に寄与するために設置されました。当センターでは、特に海洋温度差発電および波力発電を中心に、基礎的応用的研究に取り組んできました。また、全国共同利用・共同研究拠点として研究施設を提供し、共同研究の推進を図るとともに、若手研究者の育成を進めてきました。
今回で3回目となる海洋エネルギーに関する国際プラットフォーム人材育成事業は、海洋エネルギー研究を行う若手研究者の研究能力向上と学術交流の推進を目的として日本国内および海外から参加者を募り開催されてきました。今回は、オランダ、北アイルランド、スコットランド、チリ、フィジー、パラオ、インド、フィリピン、インドネシア、マレーシア、タイ、中国、韓国、日本の14カ国から26名が参加し、海洋エネルギー研究の第一人者による特別講義、若手研究者による研究発表会、企業視察などが実施されました。
若手研究者による研究発表会では、各発表に対する審査が行われ、6名にベストプレゼンテーション賞が贈られました。グループ討論会では、「What is the barrier to promote Ocean Energy?」「What should we do to promote Ocean Energy?」というふたつの課題に対してグループごとに議論が行われ、その結果が発表されました。また、企業視察の後、ショートプレゼンテーションとして本事業内容を振り返り、得られた知見が発表されました。

佐賀大学は、"第3回若手研究者のための海洋エネルギーに関する国際プラットフォーム人材育成事業2017"に参加可能なアジア地域の若手研究者を募集いたします。つきましては、当該事業への参加を希望される方は10月18日（火）までに下記申込書類をお送りくださいますようお願い申し上げます。なお、選考結果は12月中旬ごろお知らせいたします。
目的：海洋エネルギーの研究に取り組む若手研究者の研究能力の向上と他の研究者との学術交流の推進
参加資格：国内および海外の修士および博士課程の学生、あるいはポスドクおよび助教（35歳以下）
