8th Program of International Platform on Ocean Energy for Young Researcher 2021 |

Institute of Ocean Energy, Saga University (IOES), Japan annually holds the program of international platform on ocean energy for young researchers. In 2021, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, this event will be held online on 2, 9, 16 November 2021. In addition, we will present our facility online tour on 26 October 2021. Now we call for presenters and attendeers for the event. Please join the worldwide networking event on ocean energy for young researchers. All the events are free of charge. (Event Flyer)
<Registration>
Registration is now open for all the participants, including a Presenter and an Attendee (Audience). (Please fill out the form here)
Presenter: You will be obliged to present in the online event after abstract acceptance. Researchers under 36 years old, including master/Doctoral course students, Postdoctoral fellow and Research associate, Lecturer, Assistant professor. The experienced young researchers, who had joined the former programs, are very welcome to join to present your research progress. As a presenter, you are eligible to register for private research funding.
Attendee (Audience): You will attend the online event without presentation. Both Presenters and Attendees will be able to join the floor for Q&A. Special lectures, Q&A sessions are planned in the online event.
*Both Presenters and Attendees are encouraged to actively participate. As a presenter and/or attendee of the online event, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and continue your research with professors at IOES. IOES can also provide funding for start-up research activity. As a presenter, you are eligible to register for private research funding.

<Special Research Support>
Private funding support:
IOES encourages young researchers on ocean energy. If you are interested in this funding, please check the following details:
- Participate the event as the Presenter in the 8th program of international platform on ocean energy for young researcher 2021.
- Submit the technical report using designated format by 30 November. The technical report must be more than ten (10) pages.
- The report can include the authors experience in the (1st-8th) programs of international platform on ocean energy for young researcher, and must include technical reports.
- Copyrights for published papers shall belong to IOES.
- The authors have the option to publish this technical report in in the annual IOES journal "OTEC", which will be open to the public on the website.
- Authors shall be responsible for the contents of the paper.
- The authors can translate, adapt and copy their own report for the publication in other journals. However, for the duplication of the report in other journals, the authors need to obtain IOES permission.
- The private support fund will be 30000 JPY, including the bank transfer fee. The fund may vary depending on the exchange rate.
Funding for joint research with IOES:
Selected new joint research proposals will be funded Max. 100000 JPY. The proposals must plan to use IOES facility which is free of charge.
