The Program of Support on International Internship and Joint Research Program for Young Researchers

1. Purpose

This program supports overseas young researchers (35 years old or less) who will get a master's degree or a PhD by using any facilities in Institute of Ocean Energy, Saga University (IOES) to promote the international joint researches.

2. Eligibility for applicants

・To stay Japan by your own expenses for more than three month.
・Graduate (Master or PhD) Student.
・To obtain the data using facilities in IOES for master degree or PhD.
・35 years old or less.
・Staying in Japan for the research for 3 months or more.
・To include the acknowledgement in a master's, a PhD thesis or any reports, conference or seminar.
・To submit the copy of master's or PhD thesis after getting the degree.
・To submit IOES collaborate research application with your supervisor of your University or Engineering School before starting the research in IOES.
・To agree the non-disclosed agreement depends on the project in the case of an internship.
・To submit a report of your research results for a journal of a research report of IOES “OTEC” which is open access in the website.

3. Support

<Travel expense>

If you are coming directly from your country to Saga University, Saga University may subsidize part of the travel expenses. According to the University's regulations, IOES cannot subsidize if there are events other than the internship such as sightseeing during the trip.

<Accommodation>

Depending on the property, rent ranges from 30000 JPY to 50,000 JPY per month. Rent is to be paid by the participant.

6. Examining and Screening method

The Committee members involving Director and Vice Director of Institute of Ocean Energy Saga University delegated will decides the applicants by examining of submitted documents accordingly.
